Castles & Mountains in Transylvania and Beyond
Drive to Sibiu, crossing again the Saxon Transylvania area on its western side. If time allows we can have a short visit in this German town of Sibiu.
Head west passing Sebes town and then following Mures Valley we drive to Hunedoara to visit the 14th century wonderful fairly-tale like castle, also known as Matthias Corvinus (the famous king of Hungary) Castle. This imposing construction was built in the Gothic style to which were added, later, elements characteristic of the Renaissance and the Baroque reminding one of the famous castles on the Loire. The city of Hunedoara, the most important iron-and-steel centre of Romania, lies at the foot of Poiana Rusca Mountains.
Return to Harman (Honigberg) for overnight accommodation at The Country Hotel.
